The Block at Cass Park
The Block at Cass Park, formerly the S. S. Kresge World Headquarters, is an office building located at 2727 Second Avenue in Detroit. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Michigan State Historic Site. Located between the Masonic Temple and the new Cass Technical High School, the Block is in the Cass Park neighborhood, one of Detroit's most promising communities as development from downtown and Midtown converge on the area.
The building was designed by Albert Kahn and is considered to be one of his most impressive works. The limestone-faced building constructed in 1928 in the shape of a large "E" covers a city block and has 175,000 square feet of office/lab space.
